Michaël Verheyden is a Belgian designer with a worldwide reputation. He designs and produces a range of housewares, together with his wife, Saartje Vereecke, which fall midway between daily utensils and art objects. The collection features minimalist furniture, leather baskets, marble trays and decorative bronze objects. Verheyden combines respect for local traditions and expert workmanship with elemental forms. His designs are a celebration of sublime craftsmanship and rich, natural materials, such as wood, marble, leather and bronze. The combination of the archetypical, architectural geometries with warm materials impart a certain spiritual power.
